Solved my problem

#31 Post by ariipamsndotcom » Tue Jan 09, 2007 1:01 am

Thanks to all for your time and effort. I had all the passwords engaged which included the bios password. This prevented the fix from changing the setting. I disabled the password, re did the fix, and the card worked. Nobody really mentioned that as a possibility or suggestion. No other issues with it. Just wierd though. On boot, I used to get both a f1 for cmos and f12 for other boot sources. Now with the card working as when it did not work, I just get the f1 only and not the f12. strange. I get another minor error message which passes on its own, which may be due to no modem present? I do not know. Not of consequence.

I just tried it. Works for me. Try a different browser. I used Firefox. Only needed to click the little download button.

THANKS DANAGE - I fired up Opera instead of my usual Maxthon browser. Grabbed the image and now I have a working Atheros 5006 wifi card

I can only say a massive thank you to you and the others involved in developing this patch.

The Thinkpad forum is so much the stronger with guys like you who think outside the box to develop fixes for hardware compatibility issues.

So a heartfelt thanks to you for aiding me to run my T23s on Atheros cards.

hope i'm posting in the right topic...
i'm planning a surgery on my T30 - which will require a backup battery disconection
i'll post a picture of my wi-fi card - maybe you can tell me if it's likely for me to have problems whith these two eerors after the "reset"
i have no idea if the card is "original" or not, either if my machine has the bios patch or not
i have some hopes because it has a FRU number on it... 91P7408
thanks in advance

Moderator edit: Huge 166KB inline image changed to link. Please keep images < 50KB AND only include them if you are the original starter of the thread. That way you can put *PIC* in the subject line (see FAQ)
ex: T30, TR451, TR453, R51, R52, X40, X60, R61, T400, X200
now: T450, i5, 8g, 250ssd

That's a Cisco Aeronet 802.11b
Should not give any problems.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
But I actually prefer Murphy's from Cork!
