Win7 x32 vs. x64 Performance on x100e L335

#1 Post by danieldavid » Fri May 25, 2012 5:10 pm

I'd like to make a clean installation of the OS using product recovery.

Before I proceed, has anyone compared the performance of the 32 bit to the 64 bit versions of Windows 7 Pro on an x100e L335? Is it worth upgrading to 64 bit? Will I be able to get recovery media to do it?

Thanks,
Daniel

On that very machine, I did find the 64-bit version of Win 7 to be smoother and quicker. I used recovery media from an X120e (my X100e came with the Win 7 32-bit, too). The 64-bit version was able to use all 4GB of RAM, as well.

Underclocker: Thanks for the information. This is what I expected.
Are the Win 7 32 Pro license and key valid for the 64 bit as well?
Can anyone help me with recovery media - please PM.

Will a fresh install of W7 work using the 64 bit W7 disk?
