Do I need to update the BIOS on my T60?

Hello! I bought an Intel T7400 to upgrade my T60 that currently has a T2300. Given that the T7400 is a 64 bit CPU, do I need to update the BIOS before installing the new CPU? Thanks!

Yes, it is highly recommended to do so.

The newer BIOS releases have the appropriate microcode to detect and initialize the newer Merom processors, which is another reason on why you should.
