ThinkPad 390e CD eject problem

Hi,

Thinkpad 390e 2626-BOU, 366MHz, 192MB mem.

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure this one out. On the combo drive, with power turned on, the CD keeps ejecting on its own and won't stay in. With the power off, it stays latched in.

Any ideas????
