R&R3 crashes when I go to exclude files.
What I need is to exclude a whole D partition from backup since it contains only music and such. I go to exclude files section in R&R3 and it crashes!
Making it completely unusable to me because my second HDD is only 40gb and does not have enough space to backup my whole computer.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks

I just tried it, and I got to that page just fine. I began checking off folders to exclude, but I stopped there, as I was not ready to do a backup at this time.Michael1980 wrote:As soon as I get to the page. Actually straight after I press OK on the warning message that appears telling you that this section is for experienced users blah blah blah.
I assume you are logged on as Administrator while using R&R3. This probably isn't your problem, but you could boot up in Safe Mode, right click on the D: drive and verify that the permissions are set up properly. That you have "Full Control" (perhaps SYSTEM needs to be added?).
You could always try uninstalling R&R3, reboot, then reinstall R&R3.

What kind of machine do you have? What operating system? What is your secondary hard drive? Is it in a docking station? Is it in the ultrabay? Is it USB? What file system is it formatted with? Is it a Basic or Dynamic partition? What does "crash" mean, do you get an error message, or does it just close? If you get an error message, what is it? Were you ever able to get to that screen? If so, when did it break? What do you use to scan for viruses / spyware? Are they up-to-date? Have you checked recently? What other apps are running? Have you tried shutting some of them down?
