Recovering hidden partition after removal

So I replaced the HD that came with the laptop with another HD and I am using the original HD as an external HD.

I did not remove the hidden partition before removing the HD and the external HD is about 8 GB missing.

Is there anyway that I could recover this space? Would I have to plug it back to the computer and enable it to be visible?
