worth upgrading from a t43p?
worth upgrading from a t43p?
i have a t43p it works well good and i have no problems with it, but the dual core better video card and EVDO all catch my eye, im used to having 2 computers and now that i only have one would it be at all worth it for a hooked up t60?
Upgrading is almost definitely not worth it, IMO, but you seem to want one in addition to the T43p. Now that's already an interesting question. I think it may be very nice.
With that said, I'd rather have a powerful laptop and a powerful desktop rather than two powerful laptops, but I fully understand how some might not share that point of view.

if this is replacing a desktop and laptop (which seems to be what you wanna do) its most definatly worth it. Im thinking about doing the same thing.

I upgraded from a T43, and the improvement in build quality alone is worth it. My t43 is loud, obnoxious, creaky, and the keyboard flexes a little. This thing is rock solid. If I press on it, it doesn't creak. It's solid. I can upgrade the hard drive without worrying about a [censored] pata converter problem as with the T43, my lap doesn't get hot, and the duel core technology makes returning from suspend and startup a hell of a lot more pleasant, because the entire system doesn't hang as it gets ready for showtime. It's also lighter and easier to manipulate and move around and the hinges are of better and stiffer stuff. Ever watch a video and scroll in firefox and have it stutter? Not with duel core. That's worth it for me. Upgrade.
