Kingston ValueRam compatability issues?

#1 Post by dorronto » Fri Jul 27, 2007 5:05 pm

I just picked up a 1gb PC2700 ram chip from Kingston, part no. KVR333S0/1GR. This ram works when it's the only chip in the laptop, but when you try to combine it with another brand of ram, like I was trying to do, nothing happens! The computer turns on, fan is on, no post, no hard drive! PERIOD....

I have read that this ram is picky and wont work with other brands of ram.

Anyone else come across this? Have I forgotten something?

Thanks,
Ron

The KVR333S0/1GB in my T42 has been operating happily with an Elpida 1GB module.
