Hello,
I have a t400s and a mini dock plus 3. I connect to 2 viewsonic monitors both dvi.
The problem I have is when I use the laptop off of the dock and then redock the laptop pushes to the first monitor fine but the second one does not come up until i go into windows XP display properties and attach it. Everything is fine from this point as long as I do not use the laptop off of the dock. Once I do and reboot on the dock the second monitor disppears again and I have to attach it again under windows display properties.
Now I assume this is because this docking station is not a true dock. You do not tell windows xp that you are undocking before the laptop is removed. It is "rip and go."
Hoping someone has a solution around not having to go into display properties to enable the second monitor everytime I redock.
Any help is appreciated.
thanks,

Totally an XP problem. You're at the mercy of the software deciding what screens go where.
Some applications may help you. Start with UltraMon.

Re: mini dock plus 3 issue with second monitor
On my Thinkpads running XP (which is all of them really), I've long given up on having XP manage the monitors properly. So every time I change the screen configuration (docking/undocking/whatever), if it fails to detect the settings automatically, I just click Fn+F7 and select the appropriate Presentation Director scheme that I defined. This takes about 5 seconds typically.
I've heard good things about UltraMon's ability to do it automatically, though, so you may want to give it a try as suggested.

Re: mini dock plus 3 issue with second monitor
Thanks guys for the above info! I really appreciate it. I have tried the Presentation Director method and this definately works. I will have to look into the above mentioned auto software.
We are going to be deploying 16 of the t410s with the mini dock plus 3. Most of these users have dual monitors so we need an easy way for them to redock and not have to deal with monitor issues.
thanks,
