I have two Thinkpad 701's that I am interested in selling.
One is a 701CS and other than a dead battery it works great with Windows 95 and Office 4.3.
The case has a small crack in the corner and the battery release catch is broken.
The 710CS has the 360 Mb hard drive with 16 Mb RAM and DX 75. It also has a 56k X-Jack modem and a linksys ethernet card. I replaced the AC power supply not long ago and it comes with the leather case, external floppy with the cable and a parallel cable. I have the original manuals somewhere as well. I can probably find the IBM Warp software it came with too. I've had it since 1996.
The other is a 710C and I bought it for parts. There is no battery or hard drive although it has the hard drive caddy and 8Mb RAM. The case is good and the screen looks good. I plugged in the 701CS drive, swapped the RAM and started it up. The screen was flipping and I didn't go any further. Probably because I didn't change the bios to reflect the larger RAM?
I was thinking about upgrading to a faster mobo and more RAM and storage and using the 701C to replace the broken latch etc. I'd like to have a linux box to fool around with but that seems like a lot of trouble.
If someone has an interest in these, let me know what they are worth
