is there a way I dont have to pay tax and/or shipping if ordering via an EDU discount from IBM?? if so, how?

WRT not paying tax, that's easy. Simply live in a state without a sales tax.

Not paying shipping is also easy. Just have the unit teleported to your particular plane of existence.

as for tax order from Bill but then you pay shipping AFAIK.

Gotta love how helpful JHEM is sometimes. Call up IBM, give them your quote, and ask them if they have any deals on where you can get shipping for free. You might have to buy a portable mouse or a case or something, but you could probably swing it.

IBM frequently offers free shipping for online orders:

'Free standard shipping with any IBM notebook, desktop or pc accessory purchased online. Combinable with promotions. Shipping and handling not included on other orders. Limited time offer."

You should also be able to get this via phone order, simply ask the salesperson you speak with.

As to sales tax, the only way to not pay it is to either live in a state without a sales tax or have a business purchase the unit for resale, which would make it tax exempt.
