Touchpad isnt pressure sensitive enough... driver update???
Touchpad isnt pressure sensitive enough... driver update???
I am curious if there is anything I can do to make the touchpad more sensitive, its not like I gotta crank down on it, but my normal touch isnt enough to flick it on, so I have to consciously push down harder than I usually would on a laptop, and its sorta annoying
Maybe Im missing something... Im not looking for pointer speed, Im looking for how hard I have to slam my finger down on the pad to get it to regognize my fat finger is on the pad and I dont see that in the thinkvantage setup:)
sorry for the noob question, im sure you're so ridiculously sick of them.
I just got this thing two days ago, and the way I usually do it through the control panel didnt have a sensitivity option either, and it looks like thinkvantage is just a fancy way to get to the same control panel window.
Its my first IBM, and I friggin love it so far, I also am loving these forums.

Noobs are not only welcome, we encourage them to post!
Welcome to the Forums.
I don't use the Trackpad (I personally hate them!) but I thought there was a means of adjusting the Trackpad's sensitivity in the Configuration Utility. I'll check and report back unless someone more knowledgeable than I WRT the Trackpad chimes in first.
Do you have the Ultranav Wizard installed?
Regards,
James

5.5K+ posts and all I've got to show for it are some feathers.... AND a Bird wearing a Crown
theres a reason you are a mod!!!
I thought I went through and had all the most recent drivers, but I downloaded ultranav like you said, and the ultranav tab changed to allow me to change the touch pad sensitivity.
SUCCESS!!! Now I can finger my touchpad like a wuss and it still takes the input, mucho appreciated.
You can lock this now if you want to

Phew, that is dating yourself. Oops, recognizing dated me too. Groovy.
OP, depending on the level of your sofware, if you hit FN + F8 then click "Manage settings...." that leads to the UltraNav Wizard. Also at Start -> ThinkVantage -> Ultranav wizard.
Not only can you fine tune pointing devices, but can save profiles for different uses. IBM already preloads a few. ... Have fun.
