X60s build quality: How good is it?

Hi all,

I own a T41p and like to know the quality of the latest X60s.

I saw one in a show today. It's light-weight 1.32kg and looks cute.

You can check the website yourself. Somethings are in German, but you can understand.

I am happy with the machine itself (i.e. it is very fast, very small, looks cute), but, if my experience is worth anything, the build quality is dismal.
The machine feels solid, but suffers from some rather dumb manufacturing defects.
Check out the threads on docking station problems and on case warp, to name a few... Of course, your mileage may vary.

I don't think that a problem with the rubber feet qualifies as "dismal;" feel lucky that you don't have to put up with a screen that wobbles 15 degrees like on most Dells I have used.

A problem that is easily fixable, should the user be so inclined, hardly qualifies as dismal. Feel lucky that you don't have to put up with a screen that wobbles 15 degrees like on most Dells I have used. Also, the problem is known, and can be solved with little more than the removal of a piece of plastic.

Yeah, that is so annoying on my dell 300m. Never knew it was common among dells.

As for my x60s, I have no had any problems so far. The screen feels tougher than my x40, and no key has fell off so far from my typing!

I have 3 new 60 series to compare (see below) and I'm really happy with each of them. The build quality is fantastic and I see no drop off since Lenovo took over.

Each of these has quite a bit of usage time on them and they run cool, quiet, and stable. I could not ask for more.
