Is the probability anything above zero that the X60 or X60s will ever be offered with an internal DVD?

No, that would have to be so far in the future that a new model number would certainly be warranted.

And, hopefully, either the latest versions of the HD DVD and/or Blu-ray discs have improved as well as solid-state storage technology.
