how long does ripping dvd to hdd take you?
im trying to figure out if taking forever is the nature of the game, or if i have a problem. ive used nero 6 and dvd shrink to rip the dvd to the hard drive, and both took a ridiculous amount of time- close to 45 minutes for a full length dvd. the burning only takes about 8 minutes, but this ripping business is frustrating..
anyone experience similar times?

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but....I rip them to a blank DVD within about 25-35 minutes, using CloneDVD and AnyDVD. This process includes going from the original DVD, to the hard drive, and then to the blank DVD all in one step.
A friend of mine also uses DVD Shrink, but it takes him about 15-20 to the hard drive, but he is using a kick butt system that has an AMD FX-55 processor, 2gb ram, and a 250 7200rpm drive that is raided.
Exclaimer: I use this process for backing up my OWN DVDs, to protect them from a hyperactive 4 year old.
