I have an IBM T43 with English version of Windows XP Pro installed. The pre-configured settings of "Language for non-Unicode programs" in "Regional and Language Options" is set to "English (United States)". Everything is fine and I installed ThinkVantage Access Connections and it was in English.
However when I switched the non-Unicode settings to Chinese (Taiwan), the Access Connections is smart enough to switch to the Chinese Language (and seems other ThinkVantage software behaves the same). But I want Access Connections to show itself in English. Any method to make it shows English only no matter what I set in "Regional and Language Options"?
Take a look at our

How to make Access Connections "non-multilingual?
Under the folder "C:\Program Files\ThinkPad\ConnectUtilities\Res" you got several directories for different languages. What you can do is to copy the files from the US folder to the folder that is used when you got the regional settings to Chinese (Taiwan). The TC folder is for Traditional Chinese and SC for Simplified Chinese. I assume it's one of those folders that is used when your regional settings is Chinese. So in your case you copy the files from the US folder to TC or SC.
When Access Connections or the icons in systray is running you won't be able to replace the files so you have to stop access connections and kill the process ACTray.exe and ACWLIcon.exe in task manager before you can replace the files that are in use.
You can do similar with other ThinkVantage software to make those english as well. I'm not sure if you use the latest fingerprint software, but the only way i found to make it english is to make a change in the registry
I did the same thing since i want the software to be the same language as the OS and not the same as my regional settings in windows. So all the software from IBM/Lenovo is english on my PC even if the regional settings is different.
