System Update 2 failure

Ran System Update 2 a few times recently just to see if it picked up anything. Each time I get an error message 'Searching for updates: Exception not expected was encountered' after 15% complete and 6th dot has turned red.

Not a particularly self-explanatory type of message, but I think to do with source of data rather than a local problem. Anyone else experiencing this, too?

(BTW Software Installer seems OK)
