I like the trackpoint-only setup there. How do you get a palmrest with out the pad?

It is a part that you can order from IBM...somewhere on their site. Or you could also look for it on eBay. :)

Dude, the no-touchpad palmrest is sweet. Im going to have to find one for my T43. Touchpads are useless and a PITA.

Nice T42 and fully upgraded cool.
I see from your photo album you have traveled quite a bit.
I was in Italy last week in Toscana (1 night in Florence, 7 in summerhouse) thats one beautiful place.
Are both HDDs 7200RPM?

I envy you. Not often you get a great trip like that.

I yearn for one as, and I am not joking in the slightest here, *cannot* remember any time off I have had or any vacations. :|

That was my last trip I will be going in the next few years(well 2 years anyway) , I am an student here in Denmark so I dont have the $$ for many trips. But I have a good tent so next summer its traveling about Denmark camping style :)

But I am from Iceland and thats an great place to travel with an tent it has heavy duty beautiful nature! And is very rural there with only 3 ppl per square mile.

I agree that touchpads are useless for their intended purpose but I don't understand why it being there annoys people, I use the hot corners for quicklaunch which is quite handy
