When I restart it doesnt

#1 Post by snoggin » Sat Aug 19, 2006 8:54 pm

Thats the issue , not really a problem but I'm not sure what to do to correct it. If I go to Start and then restart the machine shuts down but does not power back up . It also does not shut down completely it goes dark but the battery light stays on. i end up shutting it down by holding down the power buton and then starting i tnormally. This is the only issue I have really noticed. I rarely turn the thing off anyway but when i am required to restart when loading programs or whatever it doesnt do it right. any thoughts?

Are you running a firewall other than the windows XP built in firewall?

This is definitely not normal behavior. If it was me, I'd RMA it because it could indicate further motherboard malfunction.

Well I just got off the phone with support and they agree. they are sending me out some different memory to try and if not i have to take it in to get checked out. could be the Cpu . that would suck
Trying to figure out how maybe I can upgrade to 2 gig for free  I have one gig in 2 dimms I think so that is probably not going to happen. I have to say the support was american and quick so that was different at least from dell
