No mouse after stand by?

Sometimes (not all the time, but enough to be a problem), when I resume after being in standby neither the trackpoint or touchpad respond so I have no way to move the cursor. The keyboard responds fine, but it pretty much forces me to reboot whenever this happens. Anyone know what might be going on?
