I have an x60
(2ghz c2d, 2gb, 120gb)
I am noticing a small popping noise when I listen to music using m e500 Shures and less so on my less sensitive Sony dj cans.
Dont really have this problem during movies...but music...yeah.
I thought of getting a dac/amp (like a headphonia) but maybe there is a software solution for this
some suggested running ASIO or something alike.
anyone have the same problem running good phones out of the out?
thanks!!

headphone sound quality
Since it's only occuring with music I have a hard time thinking it would be an hardware issue. I'd test some other music software. Also you might try disabling one of the cores for the music-applikation.
(or maybe it's just annoying you when listening to music? Then I wouldn't know).
In any case the soundcard in the x60 isn't great so if you want good sound you'd probably want to go with an external soundcard (ignoring the portability atm.).
