Access Connections can't override my TCP/IP settings
Access Connections can't override my TCP/IP settings
AC 4.12
API 10.5.0.0
WinXP Pro SP2
T60
Whenever I apply a tcp/ip setting different from windows for a profile, it simply doesn't work. AC says connection failed, while the connection has actually been established, but using windows settings.
Seems like windows has prevented AC from alternating the settings and insist on using its original settings.
Has anyone else met a problem like this?
BTW, I have already tried reinstalling the stuff which obviously didn't work for me.

I have often experienced this on my X41.
I mainly used static internal IP at home due to file sharing but somehow I can't connect to my X41 from my desktop computer anymore. Might be because of a firmware update of the access point. Cable connecting my X41 works flawlessly.
So I have decided to always use automatic IP settings now since I am usually connecting from my X41 to my desktop and never the other way around.
Sometimes it worked with overriding TCP/IP settings and sometimes a reboot were required.

I notice that if the profile is automatically applied during a windows startup, the "Applying TCP/IP settings" step will stay longer on screen and it eventually will succeed in overriding windows settings. But after the startup period, AC will never be able to do that again, and the "Applying TCP/IP settings" step will only appear in a flash.
Seems like AC is doing something during windows startup, but is not capable of doing the same thing after that golden period.
BTW, I should point out that this problem only occurs with wireless network. The feature works fine with the wired one.

When you start Access Connections, by hitting the Manage button, you can edit the profile properties. (Click on Manage-->Profile Actions-->Edit). On the next step, a window of the corresponding profile will pop up, when you hit the Advanced tab, there's the option "Override TCP/IP and DNS defaults".
Did you try that?

I mean exactly this setting that doesn't work for me. I don't think there's another way to do it in AC...

Have Lenovo released a 10.5.0.0 API for Intel chipsets? I was under the impression it was still at 10.1.1.3
In any case, in another thread, I've highlighted the same problem for 10.1.1.3 as well as a PEAP authentication problem at:

I'm having this problem on on Z61p running Access Connections 4.23.
On my R50p running a much older Access Connections, 2.x??, TCP/IP switching works fine.
Solution anyone?
