Hello,
I have noticed a very slight burning smell... my initial thought was that it was coming from the power adapter, which tends to heat up, but then i realized it was coming from the left side of the computer, where the small grill is. It doesn't appear to be anything major, and the computer itself does not seem to be heated up, but I don't recall noticing it before now... should I be alarmed or is this normal?
Many thanks!

faint burning smell....?
You probably shouldn't worry. It happened to me a few months after I got the computer. I noticed it during the hottest part of the summer. It was an odd smell, like the hint of electrical fire, burning rubber, and something else. Since then, I haven't smelled anything. I wondered if it wasn't dust mixing with whatever is in there and getting hot.

I once smelled a faint electrical smoke coming out of the left side of an X21. Opened it up to check it out and I saw the case had black burn marks, from a short in one of the audio plugs.
Doesn't sound like your problem, but you might want to snoop around for charing.
