4-cell slim battery for the x60
4-cell slim battery for the x60
hi to all.
i just have query, can the 4-cell slim battery option be used on the x60. i have read that the slim battery is for the x60s but have anyone tried to check if it will work as well on the x60.
thanks in advance

thanks for the response.
i'd really appreciate if somebody can post a link to some good photos of the x60s bottom view with the 4-cell slim battery and the x60 with the 4-cell enhanced battery.
I like my thinkpad flat
which is why I like the x60s. I prefer the x60 though beacause it has the core 2 duo. I'd like to get the best of both which is why I am asking whether the slim battery will fit the x60.
Thanks again
sorry, thibouille27, i did not quite get that - do you mean that the x60 and x60s has different bottom profile.Yeah AFAIK 4cells slim is for X60s, you can probably still use it in a X60 but as shape is different it might bring adverse effect (laptop not being straight on a flat surface etc).

It won't work with the X60:

I'm confident the two 4-cell options for the X60 were the:
-Enhanced 4-cell (goes in the battery slot)
-Extended life 4-cell (attaches to the ultrabase connector)

It's just one of the incentives to encourage people to buy the more expensive X60s. The Ultralight LCD is also available only for the X60s but not for the X60, which is another way to get people to buy the X60s.rnsolo wrote:dont you think its odd though that lenovo produces batteries that wont fit the same series of laptops...
The X60 is a superfluous model IMHO.
Dell Latitude 7370 (QHD+, 2.84lb); HP Pavilion x2 12-b096ms (FHD+, 3.14lb); Microsoft Surface 3 (FHD+, 2.00lb);

I thought the X60 has a larger fan/heat sink than the X60s because of the X60's hotter-running CPU. I doubt they'd just fill the area with empty space just to deny X60 users the lighter battery.
I'm not sure why the extra-light isn't available on the X60 though, it seems like it should be easy...maybe they don't have adequate supplies to offer it on all their models, or maybe it was originally installed on the X60s because the X60s is already the lighter platform and the first extral-light screen was mostly for the Japanese market (for awhile it was only available on a single X60s pre-set US model).
