this has become a busy topic over here:

apparently this is another strange lenovo.com mistake and there may indeed not be a C2D in X60T's yet.
methinks they need a proofreader for their web sales.

T60P 2613 UXGA, X41T...
There's some info here: http://www.gottabemobile.com/forum/foru ... p?TID=2463cheeebs wrote:today the C2D is gone, but a new option is this:
12.1" MultiView + MultiTouch TN XGA TFT and Intel® Core™ Duo L2400 LV (1.67GHz, 2MB L2, 667MHz FSB) [add $24.00] [New]
the only difference for $24 is "TN". anyone know what this is???
Oh... why they want to introduce this quality of screen into this top-end laptop series... that just doesn't make sense...The "WVA" panel is basically equivalant to the 15" Flexview IPS screen on your laptop. (btw, looking to sell?)
There are a few panel types.
IPS
MVA
PVA
TN
Then their derivatives.
S-IPS, AW-TS-IPS, AFFS
P-MVA
S-PVA
and so on.
The x60tablet screen was AFFS, a derivative of IPS
TN is the ugliest, cheapest and crappiest out of all of them. another step backward for lenovo. may not be their failt (boe-hydis = sony??) but oh well.
I splurged (well there was a good 10% off deal)...I went for the C2D LV 7400 with multiview+multitouch:
SBB 12.1"MV+MTWVAXGA TFT+L7400
And it says it shipped today
So we shall see how well this 7400 works....I still have a T60 7200 "in process" for a month now so hopefull that'll be here soon and i can see them in action against each other

X60 C2D vs X60 CD
I doubt if I will choose the 64-bit Vista... as I don't want to risk the problems of lack of 64-bit drivers, and the backward incompatibility of 16-bit applications
oh... but if I am NOT going to install the Vista 64-bit version, it seems that the 64-bit capability of 1.5GHz C2D will not be utilized at all, and it will be slower than the 1.67GHz CD...
Am I correct on this?
Then should I go for the 1.67GHz Core Duo instead?

Re: X60 C2D vs X60 CD
That's a great question and one I cannot figure out as well. Can you run 64-bit applications on a 32-bit operating system, or does it only work vise-versa?milstein wrote:I doubt if I will choose the 64-bit Vista... as I don't want to risk the problems of lack of 64-bit drivers, and the backward incompatibility of 16-bit applications

I got my x60 tablet with my LV7400 and i must say the thing is great. I'm running vista business and the smoothness of operation is pretty impressive. Loadtimes are comprable to the T7200 for major applications (Photoshop, Word, Outlook, etc). The only thing its not loading as fast is Vista itself - i assume that might be because of the tablet functionality? not sure but im thinking another gig of ram or something might help that along
Battery life also leaves a bit to be desired. I only have the smallest battery and it seems like when im drawing the battery will only last maybe 2 hours.
dont play any games or watch movies on it so cant tell ya how it does there.
