X60s hangs as soon as wireless icon appears in task bar

Traveling in Spain, I signed on to Zona ADSL Wi-Fi from Telefonica in my hotel room in Granada...and haven't been able to use my laptop since.

I ran three different adware/spyware programs while in Safe Mode -- no problems detected.

System Restore says I haven't added any programs.

Yet, I have an absolutely unuseable laptop - everything freezes as soon as the wireless program loads (without even an available wireless connection here at home). I am unable to get connected to the internet via cable in Safe Mode.

Any ideas?

Have you tried removing the network cards out of the device manager? They will re-install when you restart your TP
