swapping wifi cards in X60s

#1 Post by rek » Tue Apr 17, 2007 9:16 pm

I have an X60s with the Intel 3945ABG mini-PCIE wireless card.

I've also got a Toshiba Satellite here that has an Atheros a/b/g mini-PCIE card.

Will the Toshiba's Atheros card work in the X60s, or will I run up against the 'unauthorised wireless card' error message? When I swapped wireless cards in my X31, I had to do a BIOS patch to stop this.
Main - P16s 16.0 2560x1600 | i7-1280P | 32GB | 1TB SSD
Workshop - E460 14.0 1920x1080 | i7-6500U+Radeon | 12GB | 256GB SSD

I really don't believe it will work, because ibm likes is propietary and likes to have control.
