Mac Book Pro has it easy. I do like the x60 however they are apples and oranges.

If it was the X60s, I would have voted for it, but the only choice is the X60. So my vote went to the Macbook Pro instead.

The poll is over. It's amazing that even though >90% of all computer users use PCs, the MacBook Pro got 40.3% of the votes and the MacBook got 23.5%. Is this web site viewed mainly by Mac people?

If you ever have a chance to visit the Apple forums, you'll see lots of posts about problems with the MacBook Pro. At one time, I was really tempted to buy one, but the first generation suffered from odd noises and heat. And the second generation has complaints about the screens, which have really uneven backlighting. I saw that in person myself. And with all the marketing by Apple about how rock solid the Mac OS is, there are lots of posts about freezes, "kernel panics," DVD drives not ejecting disks, etc. To Apple's credit, they seem to have good support. I'm glad I opted for an X60 which has a great screen, great keyboard and has been completely reliable. Maybe one day I'll reconsider a Mac, but my vote went to the X60.

I had a Macbook for 3 months, and for 2 months of that it was faulty and at Apple. I have been very unhappy with the Macbook. What was worse was the way I was treated by Apple. Very glad to have got rid of the Macbook, and now have a Z61t and a X60. I really wish I had brought these in the first place. Better built, more reliable, better screens, and keyboards you can actually type on.

I am completely cured of the Apple lust thing, and will never darken their doors again!

Please, if you are thinking of a Macbook, check out the Thinkpad and do a side by side comparasion.
