12" LCD panel with better resolution than XGA for X31 ?
I'm wondering whether there is a LCD panel to replace the one in ThinkPad X31 to get better resolution (at least 1280x1024 or so). I though that 1024x768 on 12" might be acceptable but it is still too "big". Thanks.
RE: resolution
I don't believe there is a 1280x1024 12" for your computer, but you may want to look up SXGA if your computer will support it (Lenovo has nothing saying it's an option). I found an extra LCD hooked up to my dock work really well to expand my screen real estate, but I also started with 1024x768 and am planning an upgrade to SXGA+.
Hope this helps!

I don't think the X31 came with anything but an XGA screen (1024x768) internally. Only the most recent X6 Tablet came with higher res SXGA+ (1400x1050), but this will not fit on the normal X6 either.

That's correct. None of the non-tablet X-series (i.e. X20 through X60/s) ever had anything higher than XGA, which is the biggest imperfection of the X-series.bontistic wrote:I don't think the X31 came with anything but an XGA screen (1024x768) internally.

I actually found XGA okay on the 12". The most probable reason why SXGA+ is not on the X series might be because they wanted to keep the weight lower, and increase battery life a bit. I don't know how they managed to stuff one on the X61T, but AFAIK, the tablets come with some sort of a plastic compsite for the lid, and hinges seem to be plastic as well (I might be wrong abouit the hinges) ... maybe they saved some weight here and there and thats why you get an SXGA+.pianowizard wrote:That's correct. Can someone post the weights of an XGA X31, XGA X61, XGA X41T and SXGA+ X61T?

Why is my P1 Gen 7 so much better on battery? Cool, quiet, fast — but not on AC.
