X61 / X61 Tablet now available at Lenovo Canada!
X61 / X61 Tablet now available at Lenovo Canada!
I just placed my order through visaperks.ca for an X61 Tablet, model 7767A4U (the TopSeller edition).
This has the 160 GB drive, 1GB RAM (I will upgrade it later), the SXGA+ screen and the L7500 1.6 GHz processor.
A bit pricey (~$2100 including GST) but Lenovo Canada doesn't have the same 25% off sales as the US site. The visaperks.ca link gives you ~$115 off.

They're $2184 + tax now on that site. No less on EPP either, lolyggdrasil wrote: I just placed my order through visaperks.ca for an X61 Tablet, model 7767A4U (the TopSeller edition).

I remember last summer, the X60 and X60s dropped by about half price for the back to school sale. I'd wait til then.

About C$1800 (though visaperks.ca) for a basic X61. Not horrible for a new model, but not great. There are really very few X61/X61s models to choose from so far -- I saw nothing with turbo memory or fingerprint reader, for example.
Configuring a similar CTO on the US site ends up at about US$1350 (through usa.visa.com), plus $279 for an extra two years of depot warranty. So I guess the Canadian prices are more or less in line with the US at this point.

X220 (4287-2W5, Windows 8 Pro) / X31 (2672-CXU, XP Pro) / X61s (7668-CTO, Windows 8 Pro)
The system I ordered (the TopSeller X61 Tablet 7767A4U) also includes the X6 Ultrabase and a DVD burner. I configured a similar system on the US site and it came out to nearly the same price ($2100+). This goes to show the 25% Memorial Day sale and the Fathers Day Sale aren't really sales at all!
The Canadian site doesn't give a ship date and there's no way to check on the status of the order. I'll be phoning in later to see how long it'll take them, but I expect it'll be fast because the Canadian site only offers preconfigured systems.
