Reconfigure fingerprint scanner

How do I reconfigure my fingerprint scanner?
Is there a way to turn off the screen while leaving the laptop running?

Though I don't know what you want to do with it, there are settings in the fingerprint software.

You can set the Power Manager to turn the screen of after a specified number of minutes.

There is a self-learning tutorial in the Thinkvantage Fingerprint Software.

I noticed on the fujitsu t4220 the fingerprint reader can be used like a scroll wheel. Can the same be done with the thinkpad?
x41 long gone but got me hooked

If you have the Lenovo Power Manager installed, you can just click the battery meter in the task bar once. That should bring up a menu where you can choose "Power Off Display."
