Hi,
I bought recently wireless router (Airlive / Ovislink WT-2000R). It's connected via ethernet cable with wireless modem (from ISP) and wirelessly with 2 thinkpads (both T60). One thinkpad has Atheros wifi the other has Intel PRO 3945ABG. once wireless network is up it works like a charm.thinkpads see each other, both can access internet. when i go to bed i turn off both thinkpads and wireless modem. router stays on all night. in the morning i turn on modem and thinkpad(s) but they can't access the router. after boot they seem to be connected but aren't. they find the router via 'find networks' but connection is dropped. /release /renew or repear is of no help as well as to set static IP for wireless cards. after i power cycle router the connection is up & working after few seconds and works fine again until next evening or next time when modem & thinkpad(s) are off.
wodering if anybody expirienced something similar or if there's any advice how to avoid every morning router power cycle.
thank you in advance
krajicek

How to avoid everyday's wireless router power cycle ?
thank you both for suggestions
Have to try it. Just can't find original firmware version on web (in case that something will go wrong)RonS wrote:I would look for a firmware update for your router.
i don't think that it is modem - there were no problems without routerjdhurst wrote:Beyond the firmware recommendation (which I agree with), I myself had the same problem. After months of Rogers (Toronto) telling me is was my gear, I demanded they replace the modem, and they had to sheepishly admit it was their problem all along. No problems since. ... JDH
