Does titanium lid interfere with WIFI?
I like my niece's Z61t so much, I might buy one for myself. I'd like to get the titanium lid, but I seem to recall reading somewhere that it interfered somewhat with signals to/from the wireless antennas. Is there any truth to that? Can any owners of a Z61ts with those titanium lids comment? Do you get good wireless connectivity?

I have a Z60t with the titanium lid and don't think it affects it at all. I have no problem picking up signals at coffee houses and at my house. The signal strength seems to register at about the same power as with other laptops in the area. It's totally worth the look. Seems to stiffen/strengthen the lid too. I wouldn't have it any other way!

Both my z61m and a friend's Dell something or other have an Intel 3945 ABG wifi card.
His laptop reaches just a little bit farther then mine =( I'm sure it has something to do with the antenna position, but it isn't a big deal in almost any situation - an AP is always close enough when needed.

I really don't think so.
The engineers would have nothing that for a cosmetic feature would reduce performance.
If you have a look at the inside it really is mostly thin plastic which did surprise me.
Lastly the antennas themselves are really not inside the lid but on the outside. If you look closely you will find sectioins with ridges that look like they are part of the lid. They are really the antennas and are separate parts at the end of the antenna cables. You could see this if you took the lid apart.
