well i just upgraded my desktop (custom built unit) and ive been having some issues.
specs
msi kt4 ultra
xp 2600
2 x 512 pc2700 ddr
wd 80gb x wd 120 gb
128mb vid w/ dual monitor out
2 x cd-rom
i think alot has to do with the power supply..
its only 350w max and worked fine but now after a main drive upgrade (7200 rpm) and a storage drive install (7200rpm) it has been running fairly poor in my eyes, and crashed a few times. the screen has flashed a few times while loading the desktop (vid card needs more power)
also it would not turn on all day for some reason or another but is working now..
my question is will a new larger psu ie 450w help with my system preformance/ issues
also i cant get this fan to work??? (its the 8x agp fan)

Could you post the full specifications of your computer? It might be easier to diagnose if we know exactly what is inside.
It is possible that something is shorting out inside. Check to make sure the standoffs that mount to the motherboard aren't misaligned or extra standoffs touching the board.
Your hardware doesn't sound like it would stress out a 350 watter. My tower is an Athlon 1.83 GHz on an nForce2 Ultra with 512MB of RAM, Radeon 9600, and 7200 RPM drive and it all runs fine on a 300 Watt power supply.
As for the Northbridge fan, I have no idea. The headers are pretty much impossible to insert backwards.

Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!
