LED screen or not?
LED screen or not?
Hi all,
Pleased to say I have now got a shiny new X200 Tablet but unsure if it has the LED screen or not - is there a way to tell? The model number is 7449 FWG and it has the touch option for pen or finger - if this helps!
Coming from an X41 and an X60 tablet I am really pleased with the new machine - nice and light and good to have the widescreen option.
Thanks for any advice as to the LED or now,
Mike

Re: LED screen or not?
Thanks Marin, looks like it is an LCD but still more than happy - great display and much brighter than my X60/X41.

Re: LED screen or not?
Just to clarify the terms. Both screen types are LCDs, the difference is the backlight. New ones use LEDs whereas old ones CCFL lamps.michaelm wrote:looks like it is an LCD but still more than happy

Re: LED screen or not?
Thanks Yak! This is what I wanted to know and I managed to phrase the question incorrectly - question now then is how to tell which one I have. Is there a way to tell?
Thanks again, Mike
Thanks again, Mike
Re: LED screen or not?
Did you do the parts lookup? I could be wrong, but I believe it should indicate somehow the presence of LED backlit. If not, then the absence of LED backlit (which would be then CCFL backlit).

Re: LED screen or not?
Well, if you have a touchscreen along with the stylus screen that would mean you have an LED screen I believe.
Re: LED screen or not?
Looking at the options in the tabook then it does appear that all of the touch screens are LED - the options for 7449 seem to confirm this. Then again the parts lookup for my model here is inconclusive.
This is not a big issue and I appreciate the comments so far. I was just interested to see if my machine has the LED backlight! Looks like it is harder to establish this fact than I had hoped.
Great machine though - and that's from a self-confessed Mac addict!

Re: LED screen or not?
X200t configurator -> I believe the first screen type doesn´t have a LED backlit...

Re: LED screen or not?
But the first option does not seem to have multitouch either which mine does have!
Re: LED screen or not?
If you are sure that it is multitouch, then it also has LED backlit for sure.michaelm wrote:But the first option does not seem to have multitouch either which mine does have!
BTW, I must have overseen the model number from your original post...

EDIT: Either I´m blind or I don´t seem to find the FWG under 7449 in the tabook...

Re: LED screen or not?
I couldn't find the 'FWG' in the tabook either - had a look to see if it was a discontinued model but nothing there. Then again after using the drivers look up so often for my X41 and X60 I am often surprised by the sheer number of different types (the 3 character options) for each model (7449 etc.,) so can only assume the tabook only carries the main builds with literally dozens of minor revisions.
The multitouch is there and works so it looks like it is LED

Re: LED screen or not?
Then it is LED. Enjoy
