I love this computer and set up, but I now have to have the additional resolution of at least an SXGA+ screen. I really have no idea what a fair price for the package would be, and I would really appreciate any informed input any of you may have.
Take a look at our

Pricing Guidance Needed--Top of the Line X31 Package
The 7200 rpm 60GB drive that I wanted was not a good value from IBM compared with the price for the drive aftermarket, so I ordered the system from IBM with the smaller drive replaced it immediately with the 60 GB drive that I purchased aftermarket. Drives are not very expensive, and I figured it is easier switch the drives back and keep my data on my existing drive than transfer data around when I sell the system. (If someone really wanted the 60 GB drive, I could include it instead of the 20 GB one). The 20 GB drive that originally came with the system has not been used.stgreek wrote:Just out of curiosity: Why did you put a 20GB drive in such a system??
Thanks for all of the feedback. Based on your comments, I will include a 7200 RPM 60 GB drive with the system (instead of the 20 GB drive). Also, I agree with those of you who suggested including a port replicator, so I will also do that, too. Along with the X3 UltraBase, this should be a good value for someone.rexr wrote:stgreek wrote:Just out of curiosity: Why did you put a 20GB drive in such a system??
Although the pricing still seems tough to nail down, this seems to be a sophisticated group that recognizes quality and can differentiate units, so I am going to sell the package to the highest bidder. There may be a few non-forum people who would be interested, as well.
By the way, I am now told that I have to get a unit with a UXGA screen--I will scroll a lot less, but I hope I do not go blind.
Thanks again to everyone who took the time to help. I really appreciate it.
