My Mum's got an A21e on which the battery gauge has gone slightly nuts. The Full Charge Capacity of the battery (NiMH)is showing as 248Wh, when the design capacity is around 42Wh, so it's only charging to about 17%. It's confusing Windows and it keeps trying to shut the laptop down with what it thinks is en empty battery after about 20-25 minutes.
Is there a way to reset the capacity value? I've tried the automated drain and recharge facility, and flashing the BIOS but neither have made a difference.

I've told her that, she hardly ever uses it on battery (which likely explains the problem). She doesn't think it's worth paying £80+ for a new battery at the moment.
