Best display for vision issues?
Yeah I'm getting older and even with bifocals it gets aggravating when the print gets fuzzy. I'm using the X60t right now because of that. But the screen is kind of small.
So is an IPS screen the way to go?

Re: Best display for vision issues?
The X60T and X61T screens are IPS, and available in XGA 1024x768 and SXGA+ 1400x1050.
Plenty posts about putting SXGA+ in other X60/X61 models.
XGA is probably the same work method.
But then again, SXGA+ makes text on an X60/1 screen even smaller...
However, I'd say hook up an external monitor instead.
I am using a 19" 5:4 monitor (1280x1024).
It's a HP LP1965, which should be fairly cheap now.
Mine dates from 2008, and is just as good as on day one!

You may want to try:
a) Upscale the fonts on your X60T to 125% Not sure how 150% would look but you could give it a run and decide for yourself
b) If feasible you could use an external monitor as screen sizes are >14" or 15"
c) If you must use the laptop screen exclusively then perhaps a laptop with a WXGA or XGA 14" or 15" screen might work out better for you
Good luck

From someone whose own eyesight leaves a *lot* to be desired:
Panel quality is the single most important factor when it comes to reducing eye fatigue in my experience.
A 15" SXGA+ T60 or a FrankenPad with the same - preferably fresh - IPS panel is a sweet spot for many users with less-than-perfect vision.
Obviously, YMMV.

Re: Best display for vision issues?
Thanks all.
I have a bunch of laptops right now - 5- T60s, 3-R61s, 1- X60s, 1- X60t, 1- Z61t, 6-Chromebooks... for school. One of the T60s (T60p) has a Flexview screen but I guess it is older because it is no where near the crispness of the X60t's display. I cannot use an external monitor that often and do have a desktop at both school and home in my offices, but most of the time I'm vegging on the couch when I need a better display.
Going to the eye doctor next week. Getting to be an every year thing now. Sigh.

Re: Best display for vision issues?
When people complain that text looks too small, we generally recommend them to get low-res screens. By contrast, you aren't complaining about text size here, but instead sharpness. So, you need something with a high contrast and high brightness, and new IPS screens would be ideal (since old ones may have gotten quite dim). If you don't mind looking beyond the Thinkpads, there are lots of IPS laptops available right now, with HP's DreamColor panels being the best I believe. If you must stick with Thinkpads, the X220 and X230 would be the newest ones with IPS, though the surface area (66.75 sq. inches) would be even smaller than your X60t (70.28 sq. inches). You may also want to consider getting a T60 with an upgraded LED IPS screen: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=108270
