Thinkpad P43s v/s T490

I am in the market for a new Laptop, and I do a lot of heavy duty development work, with active emulators, servers, etc. and sometimes on multiple Power BI Desktop dashboards. I was considering getting a P43s or T490. I value performance and RAM over anything else. I am not sure why, but a Workstation replacement in the P43s is cheaper than a similarly configured T490, plus I get more RAM, a more recent CPU, and better screen options.

Is there something I am missing, what would you recommend?

I just found that a P51 is also available at less than a $1,000

I guess I could buy a 64GB memory kit and still it would work out cheaper.

I'd need a 16GBx4 kit, yes? Also, can I add a second SSD on the P51? Do I need to buy any accessories first?

BTW, I am upgrading from a regular T60, so any computer will seem 100x faster!!
