Re: What a wild ride this has been.
I suppose I deserve to be left out of the know for never reading the off topic threads.
Very sad to hear about everything that has happened to you, but I'm glad for the recent bit of good news.
My wife and I are still using the T61 6463 WS systems that I bought from you in 2013. They are both working well, maxed out to 8GB RAM and 500GB HDDs.
If you still have a T61p with a WUGA / 1920x1200 screen with a good mobo, I'm very interested. Other than that I'll contact you about a couple more 4:3 replacement system boards and anything else you might still have that hasn't gone to the dumpster - when you get back home.
Hoping you do continue to improve.
Best Regards, Mike.

Slightly OT:
First thing I then do is click on the "Unread posts" button, top right under your username.
Then I start reading posts from the last of that list upward.
If you do this every day, you'll always be fully informed about what's going on on the Forum.

"Active topics" top-left works well enough too!RealBlackStuff wrote: ↑Sun May 24, 2020 1:55 amFirst thing I then do is click on the "Unread posts" button
TuuS, hope you're enjoying your rides whatever they are.
All of us should be enjoying ours.

If you need any tips/ food / restaurant suggestions around Houston - do ping me - although with Covid maybe its safer to cook at home or reheat!TuuS wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2019 5:59 amThank you George
I'm currently near Houston Texas traveling with my new service dog. His name is Boss dawg and he is an unusually large Boxer pup, just 10 months old and his training is working out great so far. After the holidays I'm going to spend some time in the deserts of the Southwest and ultimately visiting some family in California before heading back East again.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years

Re: What a wild ride this has been.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments guys. I've been having a rough time with this lockdown and trying to get all my medical ducks in a row but I'm surviving.
I was in Houston over the Christmas holidays and again in February on the return trip. Next time I'm in Houston if you are available maybe we could do lunch. I travel to the Southwest each winter and would enjoy meeting any ThinkPad fans who would enjoy having a sandwich or just talkin about thinkpads'.
Cadillac Mike, I'm glad you enjoyed the laptops I provided you and feel free to message me anytime anywhere. I would love to see your Cadillac if I'm in your area and let me know what you're interested in and I'll see what I can do. I do currently have a very nice widescreen t61p that I converted to Intel graphics. It has a very nice 1200 by 1600 screen. I don't know if I have any 0808 or newer models. I had a few in my collection and one of our regular members bought all of them from me last year. It's possible I may have another and if I uncover it I will offer it to you first.
I still have a couple cases of the standard 4-3 motherboards. I haven't advertised them much lately because they will be sold out soon which is kind of sad as it has giving me something to focus on other than medical issues. However all good things have to end sooner or later and I am thrilled for the privilege of being able to provide these to the community.
Thank you for all your kind words thoughts and prayers.

Re: What a wild ride this has been.
hi Don, thanks for the nice words. I do hope hings improve for you.
Which Cadillac? - probably the old DeVille Convertible.I still have it; it's running pretty good.
On that T61 - 1200x1600 is a strange number for screen res. Is it 1600x1200? but that's not a widescreen? I might want one or two of those last 4:3 nvidia boards as well. I'll get back on that.
One question: Will those boards take a penryn CPU without flashing the BIOS? My eventual goal would be to get them all to Middleton BIOS but the less BIOS flashing the better, don't want to brick something. I'd also have to find some penryn 2.4 or 2.5GHz CUs.
