Finding a palmrest for my 4:3 T61

I was pleased to find that the "for parts or not working" T61 I bought cheaply on ebay is actually fully functional and just missing its palmrest. I was displeased to learn that no one on ebay seems to have non-widescreen palmrests for sale (aside from one seller who appears to think a widescreen part is the same as the non-widescreen part because they're both for a 14" T61).

Anyone know of a place that has palmrests for the non-widescreen T61 available? Preferably for non-extortionate prices?

Or, what alternative part numbers could I try searching for? Other than 42W3820, 42W2957, 42W3819, and 42W2956?

Well, since I am also from Toronto, I found this and I think you might wanna look into this instead:

This should be your best bet because anything on eBay will cost more than this with the postage and tax alone to Ontario.
I guess the downside for this is that now you are tempted to get another palmrest on top of this to make it complete. Did similar things with my T43 once that I have a torn touchpad cable and got a R51 to fix the cable instead. Eventually I got a bunch of T4x palmrests here on this forum and fixed that R51 back up again.

Unfortunately I'm no longer in Toronto. (makes note to update profile).

I bought it assuming it was DOA, planning to put the motherboard from my 15" frankenpad in it. I'd lose IPS but get a smaller and lighter laptop. So now I have a spare t61 motherboard, which I can sell for more than I paid for the supposedly dead laptop. Except I still need a darn palmrest.

I'm going to order a 14" T60 palmrest and see if it works acceptably - I've read that they don't quite fit a t61 properly, but it will be better than nothing.

I guess I could try putting it in a 14" t60 case if buying a t60 palmrest doesn't work. Off to look at the "for parts" listings again.

You can also try searching by FRU. This seems to be the HMM. It lists as 42W2956 for palmrest without a fingerprint reader with IBM logo, 42W3819 without fingerprint reader with Thinkpad logo, and 42W2957, 42W3820 for matching parts with fingerprint reader

Hmm.. looking at TaoBao it seems T61 might have been sharing palmrests with R61. Is that a better chance?..

Have found one but for unreasonable money: £43 non-negotiable + international postage.. from AU https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274418558980 the listing mentions an extra FRU 42W3616 - hmm is that the seller who confuses widescreen and 4:3? that other FRU seems like a widescreen 15.4 to me.. but his item is marked as 42W3820.. but the cost.. it's another T61 or a couple

Hi, I have a 4:3 t61 14inch palmrest in ideal condition. Problem is, it is located in Europe, and the hassle of sending it would probably be not worth it.
