Just an FYI...
DHL Courier is being hit with a Canadian (British Columbia) class-action lawsuit.
The suit alleges that DHL charged an extra amount for "Import Duties and Taxes" before releasing the imported goods, when in fact, only a small portion of the extra amount went to import duties and taxes, the balance going to DHL as a "Processing Fee" but not mentioned as such.
I have pretty much used Fed-X exclusively for years, and their Import/Processing Fees are always listed separately from their "Duties and Taxes" line on the invoice.
Might be something to keep an eye on for those of you who utilize DHL as their carrier.
Regards.
Dave

Good, I hope something comes of this lawsuit. UPS is just as bad. Many many moons ago got dinged $50 for "fees" on top of the shipping charge and duties. Never again. Since then I've used only USPS who charges $5 and is part of the shipping charge.

The other day I ordered 14 kitchen cabinet door handles from the UK.
Because of Brexit and a total import price of over EUR 22.00 I also got hammered by shipping company DPD:
Overall it shows a bleak picture:
The Handling-price is 147% on top of the Goods-price!
Here is a comparison of the rip-off handling between DPD and DHL: https://www.eurosender.com/en/cvc/dhl-dpd
If that class-action goes through, no doubt other countries will follow!
Code: Select all
Goods: £ 14.58 / EUR 17.57
Delivery: £ 10.83 / EUR 13.05 (weighing 2 KG, from UK to Ireland)
Total: £ 25.41 / EUR 30.62Code: Select all
Duty: EUR 0.00
Customs Tax: EUR 6.67
Brokerage: EUR 5.00 --------------> They really mean: rip-off
Brokerage VAT: EUR 1.15
Total: EUR 12.82
Code: Select all
Goods: EUR 17.57
Handling: EUR 25.87
Total: EUR 43.44
