X230T and Tablet Mode in Windows 11 ?

Ok now I am a little grumpy with myself. When I bought the X230T I immediately upgraded it to Windows 11.

But the volume up and down function does not exist when the screen is face up and folded down covering the keyboard.

Wondering how I could use it in "tablet mode" with Windows 11 I came across this:

"Can I force tablet mode in Windows 11?
It's not possible to manually activate or force tablet mode in Windows 11's settings. No readily available hack or tool exists to re-enable this feature at present."

Any work arounds to make the X230T function (primarily showing task bar and also showing some sort of volume controls while the display is face up covering the keyboard?

I located an actual Thinkpad device setting which allowed me to chose "touch" instead of "pen." I also turned taskbar always on (not hidden), which gives me access to programs pinned to the taskbar and the speaker icon which allows me to adjust volume when opened.

I increased the size of the taskbar icons using this method:

But unfortunately it does not make the righthand speaker icon etc. larger.

Any suggestions for optimizing the X230T in tablet mode?
