T60 blue screen

#1 Post by donli » Mon Mar 17, 2025 3:10 am

T60 currently have win11 usb flashdrive installed.
I connected new PC to T60 via USB cable and immediately blue screen appears on T60.
It is not bootable any more. What are the recovery options?

Which cable and what exactly you connected where? USB cables generally are not used to connect a PC to a PC.

Does it make sense to take T60 HDD out and connect to T61 USB and install again from cd.

You used 24H2? Windows 11 24H2 is no longer compatible with anything pre-Arrandale (i.e. T410/T510), and for Arrandale/Clarksfield systems, it cannot be a Pentium or Celeron.
Use 23H2, and obviously make sure you have a Core 2 duo installed in your T60

T60 recovery disc booted, selected USB drive, restart, disk eject and win11 (build 10.0.19042 win 10 pro) install repaired HDD automatically.
Checked: blue plug-plug cable was connected to T60 when blue screen appeared.

Another problem any suggestions.
Copied files from usb stick to 16TB Usb (china MI). Coping was successful and looked OK (win11).
Next time opening file explorer file directories was disappeared, empty folders.

well that the T60 still works at all is impressive. unfortunately and i'm sorry to say this but I am not able to understand what exactly are the problems with your system, what you are trying to solve, and what your ultimate goal is.

I googled "16tb MI drive" and most likely: you bought a scam/fake flash drive that does not actually store as much as it claims. Once its actual (much smaller) capacity is exceeded, it will just delete older files to make room for the new ones. A real 16TB flash drive, if you could find one, would cost many hundreds of dollars.

The blue screen appears accidentally. I could not imagine that something like this could happen.
I had no other cables at hand at that moment. Happy end no goal. I tried to get access to T60 HDD from other PC.
