T61 inverter board on T60?

Hello, this may be a dumb question but my T60 inverter board just died out and sourcing parts locally is limited to the T61 inverter boards, is it possible to use or are there any possible alternatives? Thank you.

Correct card seems to depends on if you have a 14" or a 15" laptop. Wide or square doesn't matter, apparently, just whether it's a 14" or 15" laptop, as it seems Lenovo shared Inverter cards for 14" square and 14" wide, and shared Inverter cards for 15" square and 15" wide (AKA 15.4"). now as to whether you can share between 14" and 15", that's the part I don't know. but I do know that they are shared between 15" square and 15" wide (AKA 15.4") because i've put T60 15" inverter card in T500 which is a 15.4" laptop and it works fine.


Therefore look for the following:


For 15" or 15.4":

42T0077 - originally used in 15.0" XGA T60
42T0079 - originally used in 15.0" SXGA+/UXGA T60/p
41W1338 - originally used in 15.4" T60, T61, T/W500
13R1015 - originally used in 15.4" T61, T/W500

For 14" 4:3 or 14" wide:

41W1010 - originally used in 14.1" T60/p
41W1478 - originally used in 4:3 T61/p and 14.1" wide T/R61/p/i and T/R400
41W1479 - originally used in 4:3 T61/p and 14.1" wide T/R61/p/i and T/R400




unrelated but digging through the HMMs has gleaned me the random knowledge that there were apparently LED-backlight versions of the R500 for CTO. i am now really curious how that worked

Hey! Thanks for the reply! Sad to know that mine is a 15" which the inverter being sold online is for the 14". I hope someone else can also reply, but would it even be possible if I use a 14" inverter board instead as I don't mind losing the status lights? Or are the plugs different? Thanks again.

perhaps you can purchase on aliexpress, they are cheap there. it's generally always better to get the correct part.

Any inverter from T60/T61 series will work.
